MaxPlayer Pro / Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
MaxPlayer Pro is a local video player: it finds and plays the video files already on your device. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what leaves your device, what never does, and why — including the ad and analytics services the app relies on to stay free.
00:00 — ON YOUR DEVICE
Your videos & local storage
MaxPlayer Pro asks for broad storage access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
on Android 11+, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO on Android 13+) for one reason:
to scan your device for video files and show them as a browsable library, the same way a
file manager would.
Your video files, filenames, folder names, and thumbnails never leave your device. Nothing about your personal media library is uploaded, synced, or sent to us or to any third party. Playback happens entirely on-device.
You can review or revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → MaxPlayer Pro → Permissions.
00:14 — ADS
Advertising & consent
MaxPlayer Pro shows ads served by Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may use an advertising identifier and general device information to select and measure ads. On first launch, the app shows a consent form (Google's User Messaging Platform) where required by law — including for users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland — so you can choose whether ads are personalized before any such data is used.
You can revisit that choice at any time from the app's Settings screen, or opt out of personalized advertising globally through your device's ad settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most Android versions).
00:21 — DIAGNOSTICS
Analytics & crash reports
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to catch bugs before they affect more people. This includes anonymized usage events (screens opened, features used), basic device information (model, OS version), and, if the app crashes, a stack trace describing what the code was doing at the time.
A small amount of remote configuration (Firebase Remote Config) lets us turn features on or off without an app update — it doesn't send us anything about you, it only tells your app which settings are currently active.
00:28 — SUBTITLES
Subtitle search
If you use the in-app subtitle search, the video's filename (cleaned of its extension) is sent to OpenSubtitles.org to find matching subtitle files, and your device's IP address is visible to them as with any web request. This only happens when you open subtitle search and choose to look something up — never automatically, and never for videos you haven't searched for.
00:35 — SUMMARY

00:42 — THIRD PARTIES
Third-party services
Each service below governs the data it receives under its own privacy policy:
00:49 — CONTROLS
Your choices
- Storage access — revoke anytime in system Settings; the app simply won't be able to find videos to play until it's granted again.
- Ad personalization — controlled through the in-app consent form and your device's ad settings.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything MaxPlayer Pro stored locally, including playback history and cached thumbnails.
00:56 — RETENTION
Retention & security
Playback history, favorites, and app settings are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. Data shared with AdMob, Firebase, or OpenSubtitles is retained according to each provider's own policy, linked above. We don't operate our own servers that store your personal data.
01:03 — CHILDREN
Children's privacy
MaxPlayer Pro is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads shown in the app follow Google's standard (non-child-directed) advertising treatment.
01:10 — CONTACT
Changes & contact
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.
